You can’t use this service if your invention is military technology or could harm national security.

Use European Patent Office online services instead if you register EU patents frequently (including in the UK) – you’ll need an IPO deposit account.

- supporting documents you must prepare
- search and examination requests – if you choose to include them now
Upload PDFs of your supporting documents with your application – the whole application size mustn’t be more than 20MB.
You’ll need an email address to use this service.
Fees
You get a discount if you pay online with a credit or debit card, or have an IPO account.
Apply by post if you want to pay by cheque, cash or bank transfer.

You don’t have to pay all the fees right away. You can pay the application fee and request and pay for your search and examination after you apply.
